Accommodation details:
A Place To Be Well -La Roane- can accommodate a maximum of 18 participants. Our season currently runs from March to November (plans to expand this are in the making though, so don’t hesitate to ask!)
La Roane has two houses for guests – The Main House and the Barn (where the yoga studio is). Both have double and twin bedrooms. The double rooms (used for one person or a couple) and twins (two beds for two people) all have access to shared bathrooms. There are a few private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. We also have a treehouse and a yurt in the forest (with an outdoor toilet and shower) perfect for stargazing and falling asleep to the sounds of owls. These are used in the warmer months only.
During the summer months, our natural pool is a popular gathering place. In colder months, our sauna may be more your thing. Why not a dip in the cold after a hot sauna? We provide you with towels.
We have a no shoes indoors policy and kindly request that all guests bring indoor shoes/ slippers (we can provide some if you forget yours) or just wear socks or go barefoot in the summertime. The outdoor shoes have a special parking place.
The larger of the two houses is the “main house” and it holds a professional kitchen, a dining room and terraces where the guests have their meals. Our chefs prepare amazing vegetarian dishes that will delight your eyes and nourish your soul. The groups eat together and all meals are included in the fee. You are free to help yourself to fruit, biscuits, coffee or tea throughout the day.
As a leader or retreat facilitator, your stay is completely free on condition that you bring a minimum of 10 paying guests.
Extras, additional services and equipment (these are charged separately):
We love supporting the local community and the well-known Sunday market in St Antonin is a must see. Any goods you purchase there, of course, are at your own expense.
Most retreat guests request to have massages during their stay. Our local masseuses are talented and very sought after. You are sure to feel incredible after one of their treatments. We also have the privilege to have found Laura. She lives and works at La Roane and offers Bach Flower Remedy sessions to guests who wish to try one of her gentle sessions.
The nearby Aveyron river is a gem for swimming as well as kayaking/ canoeing trips in Summer and early Fall. These trips can be organized by us and your group pays the canoeing company directly.
Should you have any requirements of supplies during your stay, please contact us directly so we can see how we can help.
We have chickens and a dog so please do not bring your pet!
Our furry friend, Pako, our loveable Anatolian shepherd mix, stays mostly in and around our house. He’s a protector but also not so keen on letting people who love him leave him. So you can pet him ONLY if you have permission from us first, please.
Our property is not set up for small children.
If you are participating in a yoga retreat, for example, please do not bring your child. Teenagers are welcome (as long as they can swim) and we encourage them to learn yoga, meditation and other activities being offered here like painting. But if you wish to bring a younger child, you need to ask us first. We cannot be held responsible for their safety while here.
Arrivals and departures:
On the first day of your event, we recommend arrivals from 2 pm onwards, although we can accommodate flexibility as needed. Please make inquiries, as there may be additional costs. Many hosts/ teachers prefer to arrive on the day prior to the participants in order to prepare. Just ask!
On the final day, we recommend leaving after breakfast, but understand that travel plans vary, and we are flexible regarding departure times.
Logistical planning on the first and last days can be difficult.
We will organize one or two pickups on the first and last days for free from Caussade train station (15 minutes away) depending on the participants’ arrival and departure times. It’s therefore essential that we get everyone’s times in advance. Retreat participants needing pick up service from Toulouse airport, please let us know in advance too as we will need time to organize these. The fee for an airport pickup is at your charge. Why not think about sharing a ride with other participants for cheaper fare and living more sustainably?
Terms of payment:
To confirm your booking and reserve the dates, we require an initial deposit of 30% of the total booking cost (based on 10 paying participants). The remaining balance shall be paid 6 weeks before the start of your event.
In the event that you wish us to take care of all the administration for booking your event (taking in all the participants’ fees and organizing directly with every participant) please let us know. There is a fee for this service and we are happy to communicate this with you during our discovery call. Participants will be asked to pay a non-refundable reservation fee.
Terms of cancellation:
If you are a retreat leader/ teacher and you need to cancel a reservation, please give us as much advance notice as possible so that we can offer the space to another instructor.
We invite you to postpone your retreat instead of cancelling it.
100% deposit refund for cancellation 90+ days prior to retreat start date.
50% deposit refund for cancellation between 60 and 89 days prior to retreat start date.
No deposit refund for cancellation less than 60 days prior to retreat start date.
If you are a retreat participant and you need to cancel, let us know at least 4 weeks prior to the start date of your retreat/ course to get a full refund (apart from the non-refundable booking fee). Cancellations received after this date do not allow for any refunds.
Is there something missing here? Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
